Mallorca & Nicaragua
Maüa is a mixture of cultures expressed in chocolate. It was born from the love of two people in Nicaragua, one developing his profession in the cocoa sector and the other remembering her childhood and youth when she watched and helped her grandmother and mother roasting cocoa to make the different drinks combined with corn.
Maüa expresses the warmth of the Mediterranean and the luminosity of Mallorca with the abundance and exuberance of the Tropics where our wonderful cocoa originate.
Maüa symbolizes the union of the two origins of its creators, Mallorca and Nicaragua.
Maüa is born with the purpose of offering a handmade “Bean to Bar” chocolate, professionally manufactured and with very high quality standards in order for our customers to enjoy this wonderful product.
Silvia
Silvia was born in Nicaragua, the cradle of Mesoamerica, where cocoa has a long history. In Nicaragua they drink beverages made with cocoa and corn mainly combined with spices (cloves, pepper, cinnamon…). To Silvia, the smell of cocoa instantly takes her back to her childhood when she helped her mother and grandmother to make these drinks. Her grandfather had cocoa trees planted on his farm. Silvia is in charge of the elaboration of the chocolates and takes care of every detail for our customers.
Jaume
Jaume became interested in cocoa in 2008 when he started visiting cocoa producing cooperatives in northern Nicaragua after coming to Nicaragua to live. As an agronomist he became interested in the crop and its development and it allowed him to become an expert working for different organizations and companies visiting and advising farms throughout Latin America. Jaume supports the development of recipes, chocolate tastings and representation of the company.
